Capsule

Work History

Staked as Gun cl (Y7481) in May/66 following airborne mag and EM surveys by Atlas EL, which carried out geochem sampling and mapping later in the year. Restaked as Bev 1-32 cl (Y83483) in Oct/74 following airborne surveys by Hudson Bay M & S, which conducted ground mag and EM surveys and drilled one hole (137.8 m) in 1975.

Capsule Geology

Geological mapping (Murphy et al., 2001) shows the region is dominantly underlain by a layered sequence of Devonian to Early Mississippian metavolcanic and metasedimentary rocks of the Yukon-Tanana Terrane (YTT). The YTT is a volcanic-plutonic pericratonic arc assemblage that was strongly deformed and metamorphosed by Late Triassic time. Volcanic-hosted massive sulphide deposits exist at different stratigraphic positions within the YTT.
The occurrence is mapped (Murphy et al., 2001) as being underlain by the Upper Devonian Fire Lakes metavolcanic unit. Geological Survey of Canada maps indicate a 400 gamma aeromagnetic anomaly in a low, overburden- covered area. Atlas found schist float with many small intrusive dikes, but no mineralization.
