Work History

Staked as Maji claims (YA96020) in Aug/86 by Kerr Addison ML, which performed mapping in 1986 and mapping and geochem sampling in 1987. Skukum Gold Inc. tied on Ette claims (YB06059) to the north in Jul/87 and restaked the Maji group, as Tarn cl (YB24266) in Nov/88. Geochemical surveys were carried out on the Tarn claims in 1989.

Capsule Geology

Gold and minor silver occur in quartz veins, stringers and breccia zones along northeast-trending shears and faults that cut Eocene rhyolite and pyroclastic rocks intruding and overlying a brecciated phase of the Cretaceous Coast Range Batholith. Vein specimens assayed up to 62.1 g/t Au and 45.0 g/t Ag, while feldspar porphyry samples returned up to 3.1 g/t Au and 92 g/t Ag.
On the Tarn claims, a vuggy cryptocrystalline quartz vein up to 2 m wide follows a major northeast lineament for a distance of 200 m. The vein contains fluorite, minor pyrite, chalcopyrite, malachite and azurite. A chip sample across 0.4 m returned values of 7.75 g/t Au, 41.5 g/t Ag and was also anomalous in lead and arsenic. A sample of silicified, malachite-stained rock on the same northeast trend near a small tarn contained 54.9 g/t Ag, 6026 ppm Cu, 2010 ppm Pb and 1227 ppm Zn.
