Work History
Staked as Part claims (YA22567) in Apr/78 by Ross Bennett Joint Venture (E & B Exploration Ltd, Welcome North Mines Ltd, Kennco Exploration Ltd & Malabar Silver Mines Ltd), which performed mapping, geochem and radiometric surveys in 1978, geochem surveys plus 3 drill holes (345 m) in 1979, mapping in 1980 and minor prospecting and geochem sampling in 1981. Restaked as Part claims (YA86430) in Mar/85 by L. Allen, who prospected and sampled later in the year.
The property was acquired by Minequest Exploration Associates and optioned to Eaglet Mines Ltd, which performed mapping, prospecting and geophysical surveys in 1986 and drilled 3 holes (254 m) in 1986. In 1987, Sirius Resource Corp assumed Eaglet Mines obligations and drilled one hole (349.3 m) later that year. In B. Kreft restaked some of the PART claim block as BL cl (YB30568) in Jul/91.
Doron Explorations Inc. tied on BTT claims (YA94613) to the SW in May/86 and performed geochem sampling later in the year. Kennco Exploration Ltd tied on Wet claims (YB20551) south and west of BTT claims in 1988.
Ashworth Exploration Ltd tied on Cisco claims (YA95017) to the north in Jun/86 and carried out mapping and geochem sampling in 1986. In Jul/88 the Cisco claims lapsed and were restaked by Skukum Gold Inc. as the Jerry claims (YB20524). Skukum Gold added another Jerry claim and mapped, prospected and sampled in 1989.
Restaked as Krista cl 13-26 (YB95984) by J. Dickie in Aug/96.
Capsule Geology
The 1978 claims were staked on uranium silt anomalies draining a contact between Cretaceous granodiorite of the Coast Range Batholith and Eocene pyroclastic rocks. Geochemical surveys outlined a uranium soil anomaly, and minor amounts of chalcopyrite, pyrite, native silver and galena carrying minor gold values were discovered in fracture zones within a rhyodacite flow. The 1979 drilling encountered highly fractured but unmineralized rocks.
The 1985 work located vein mineralization in a brecciated and altered volcanic unit. A sample across 0.4 m assayed 58.0 g/t Au and 3584 g/t Ag. All three 1986 drill holes cut quartz veinlets up to 5 mm wide, which contained pyrite and galena. The best intersections were up to 2 m wide, with as many as 20 veinlets per metre, and assays up to 3.6 g/t Au and 50 g/t Ag over narrow intervals.
The BTT claims were staked on a large magnetic anomaly and cover Eocene felsic tuff with small zones of bleaching, pyritization and silicification. No mineralization was discovered.
Work on the Cisco claim located several pieces of mineralized float including a quartz breccia fragment that carried 2% disseminated pyrite with minor galena, but assayed only 4.2 ppm Ag and 95 ppb Au. Prospecting and geochemical sampling on the Jerry claims in 1989 identified three areas where northeast-striking vuggy quartz-fluorite veins cut altered quartz monzonite and rhyolite dykes in Crozier Creek canyon. A specimen taken from one vein contained 6.38 g/t Au.
