Capsule Geology

The claims are underlain by Cash Creek Group Mississippian metavolcanic rocks of the Nakina formation. O'Neil reported obtaining trace gold values (0.1 g/t) from samples of rare quartz/calcite veins found in outcrop on Sandpiper cl 2 in the late 1980's. Unmineralized quartz float was found in the area during prospecting in 1997. O'Neil also reported that gold had earlier been found in quartz veins on the adjoining Rainbow claims. The Rainbow claims covered the abandonded Venus Mine tailings pond and surrounding area.
