Capsule

Work History

Staked as Fay cl (Y23714) in Feb/68 by A. Nelson and J. Grant. Restaked by B. Poulin in Dec/91, at the southwest corner of a large block of Bobo (YB36630) and Rae (YB36633) claims which also cover the Peshke occurrence (minfile occurrence #105C 041). The Bobo cl were transferred to Tonycastle Ltd in Jan/92, and to A. Poulin in Sep/92. B. Poulin added more Rae cl (YB36870) to the northwest in May and Jul/92. The property was explored by bulldozer stripping in 1992. In May/94 A. Poulin carried out 9 740 m3 of trenching and road work. The following February, Poulin added Rae cl 110-117 to his holdings.

Capsule Geology

The Evelyn Creek property is situated in the eastern edge of the Omineca Tectonic Belt within the influence of the Teslin suture zone. Locally, the rocks consist of actinolite-chlorite-epidote+/-biotite+/-hornblende schist and greenstone flanking a thick succession of marble. The rocks are metamorphosed under greenschist to lower amphibolite facies conditions and are intensely deformed.
The original claims were staked on rumours that silver-rich float had been found in this area. Poulin's 1994 program extended the road and trench systems on the property. Limited regional mapping by a consultant uncovered a Cretaceous pluton and argillite, quartzite, limestone and chloritic volcanics.
