Work History

First staked in 1935, possibly as Anne & Moose cl (18968). Restaked as the Cream cl (56207) in Aug/46 by C. Johnson, and as the Fox cl (YlO623) in Sep/66 by Boswell River ML which performed some trenching and a geochemical survey.
Restaked as HM cl (Y75995) in Jul/73 and as SM cl (Y90711) in Sep/74 by El Paso Mg and Milling C, which conducted mapping and soil sampling in 1975. Exploram Mls L drilled 3 holes (304.8 m) in 1976 under option and the claims later reverted to W. Kuhn, who optioned them to Amoco Can Pet in Mar/79. The SM claims were sold to Tintina Silver ML in 1979.
Yukon Revenue ML tied on YR cl (YA60133) to the SW in May/81 and performed mapping and geochem sampling in 1982. The Grizzly & Bear cl (YA60097) were tied on to the west and north in May/81 by a syndicate composed of Westfort Pet L, Aurum ML, Atlantic Energy Corp, Delta Pet L, and Corsair Pet L, which performed mapping and geochem sampling in 1981 and 1982.
In the summer of 1995 Tintina Silver resampled selected sections of diamond drill core.

Capsule Geology

A 0.6 m wide vein containing galena and sphalerite cuts argillite and talc-chlorite-sericite schist of the Kootenay terrane (Yukon Tanana terrane, Mortensen 1992). These rocks define an antiform with a northeast-trending axis and are intruded by a mafic (lamprophyre?) dyke and to the northeast by a dacite porphyry dyke. Sevensma reported the following assays:

Type Ag (g/t) Pb (%) Zn (%)

Float 3377.05 66.5 -
Float 2886.78 64.6 2.1
60 cm vein 1265.11 31.5 6.6
30 cm vein 510.84 13.3 5.2

The drilling tested a nearby geochemical anomaly and intersected minor galena and sphalerite with up to 5% pyrite. Sulphides are disseminated and form veinlets in a quartz carbonate gangue cementing a breccia zone in graphitic slate and phyllite.
Yukon Revenue reported two soil anomalies with Mo reaching peak values between 50 and 200 ppm. Rhyolite float from an old hand trench assayed up to 0.22% Mo. The Westfort syndicate outlined one weak Mo-Zn-Pb anomaly.
On the adjoining Red Mountain occurrence, Tintina Silver resampled 417 intervals of drill core to investigate whether Red Mountain ore might yield coproduct gold in concentrate and assess the gold distribution within the periphery of the porphyry system, in the Cu enriched zones and in the oxidized cap with a view to directing future underground development into mineralized rather than barren ground.
The results indicate that gold content is inversely related to Mo grade, and does not have preferential distribution related to depth as previously anticipated. Gold concentrations from the copper bearing upper sections of the deposit are equally low as those from its Mo-richer deeper core precluding anticipations of a gold bearing Cu cap or a supergene enrichment zone.
Gold mineralization does, however, appear to have an affinity for the peripheries of the deposit, particularly for its northeast portions in the vicinity of the Quartz Eye Diorite dike and surrounding Hornfels where nearly all of the higher grading data have to date been obtained. The majority of the higher grading silver sections are also from holes in the northeast and eastern portions of the deposit, typically represented by grades in the 5- 20 ppm range, possibly also genetically associated with the Quartz Eye Diorite.
Since the northeast portion of the deposit has been designated as the principal entry point for a 3 200 m exploration tunnel into the deposit, it was recommended that future work be directed to optimize exploitation of any incidental reserves that might be encountered in this area.
