Work History

Staked as Head cl 1-42 (YA70822) in Jan/84 by Canamax Resources Inc, which carried out geological mapping, grid soil sampling and staked Head cl 43-56 (YA71013) in May/84. Canamax extend geochemical coverage in the area with addition grid soil sampling in Jul/86.
First Yukon Silver Resources Inc tied on to the south of the remaining 14 Head claims, staking Ed cl 1-14 (YB00526) in Jul/87. First Yukon carried out reconaissance soil sampling in 1988.
Restaked as Tackle cl 1-48 (YB75398) by Nordac Resources Ltd in Feb/96. Nordac carried out a work program consisting of geological mapping, prospecting, grid soil sampling and hand trenching, before adding Tackle cl 49-64 (YB87360) in Sep/96.
Nordac Resources Ltd was reorganized in Jun/01 and renamed Strategic Metals Ltd.

Capsule Geology

A circular magnetic anomaly is associated with a narrow, biotite-rich granite dike that cuts a gently east-dipping sequence of Lower Cambrian carbonate, phyllite and quartzite. Calc-silicate hornfels with traces of pyrite and pyrrhotite was found as float. Two northeast trending silver-lead-zinc anomalies with samples returning up to 6 ppm Ag, 3 840 ppm Pb and 700 ppm Zn were defined in an area where fracture-filling galena was found in massive limestone.
Resampling in 1996 returned 71.0 ppm Ag and >10 000 ppm Pb from a hand pit located near an anomalous 1986 soil sample site. A specimen of quartzite containing vuggy quartz veining with traces of limonite and pyrrhotite assayed 1.15% Pb, 304 g/t Ag and 30 ppb Au.
