Work History

Staked as 160 Mid cl (YA56975) in Oct/80 by Regional Res L and optioned early in 1981 by Amax EL and Procan EC, which conducted extensive airborne and ground mag and EM surveys, geochem sampling and mapping in 1981 and 1982, and road construction in 1984 and 1985. Regional drilled three holes totalling 477.6 m in 1986.

Capsule Geology

A 4 m thick stratiform barite occurrence is situated 600 m south of the BC-Yukon border within Devono-Mississippian black shale and clastic sedimentary rocks. Several specimens gave assays of 89% BaSO4 and specific gravities greater than 4.2. A barium geochemical anomaly trends 2 km north into Yukon and is associated with anomalous Pb, Zn and Ag values and EM conductors at its north end. The barite-rich horizon is presumed to extend onto the Yukon claims.
The 1986 holes were drilled for geological purposes but they encountered structural complications and drilling problems and failed to reach the Sylvester/McDame unconformity.
