Work History
Staked as Goat cl (YA44599) in Jul/79 by Can Occidental Pet L on GSC geochemical results. Can Occidental performed mapping, geochem sampling and VLF, EM and mag surveys in 1979, 1980 and 1981. McPres Ml EL optioned the property and performed trenching in 1985. The adjacent RK cl (YB46291) were staked in Sept/93 by A. McMillan.
Capsule Geology
Traces of molybdenite, chalcopyrite and scheelite occur with pyrrhotite in skarn horizons up to 5 m thick that have formed in altered Cambrian or older sediments which form xenoliths in Cretaceous quartz monzonite and granodiorite of the Cassiar Batholith. Although skarn alteration is widespread, individual zones are quite small. The best assays reported by Can Occidental were 0.3% MoS2, 2.0% Cu and 0.96% WO3. Galena and sphalerite occur with pyrite and fluorite in pegmatite veins that follow northeast-trending shear zones in granite. The shear zones are up to 3 m wide and 30 m long. The best assay reported in 1981 was 65.1 g/t Ag, 5.6% Zn and 1.3% Pb.
