Work History

The southeast showing was staked as Dear & Peak cl (Y29340) in Aug/69 by Rip Van Mg L (Del Norte Mg Group). All the showings were staked as Val cl (YA28821) in Jun/78 by Klinkit JV (DuPont of Can EL & Duval Corp), which explored with detailed mapping and geochem sampling in 1978, 1979 and 1980, restaked the southeast showing as Val cl (YA68693) in Jul/82 and explored with mapping, geochem and geophysical surveys in 1982 and 2 holes (132 m) in 1984. The DuPont interest was transferred to CSA Mls Inc in 1984 and to Goldsearch Inc in 1985.
H. Hibbing restaked the southeast showing as 16 Scarn cl (YB35222) in Dec/92.

Capsule Geology

The southeast showing consists of sphalerite and minor galena grading into a tin-rich zone in a skarn developed in carbonate beds within a roof pendant composed of Carboniferous volcanic and clastic rocks of the Yukon Tanana Terrane. Chip sampling gave grades of 3.9% Zn and 17.1 g/t Ag across 6.7 m on the Dear group and 2.8% Zn and 10.3 g/t Ag across 11 m on the Peak group.
The other showings consist of cassiterite-bearing veins and vein swarms that cut the Cretaceous Seagull Batholith.
