Work History

Staked in Sep/65 as Heather cl 9-16 (89335) by Norquest Joint Venture (Anaconda, Asbestos Corp, Bralorne Pioneer Mines Ltd, Granby, New Jersey Zinc Corporation Ltd and Utah), which explored with hand trenching and mapping in 1966.
Restaked as Tam cl 1-24 (Y64238) in Aug/71 by J.C. Turner and optioned to a joint venture between Getty Mining Pacific Ltd and General Crude Oil Company, which explored with mapping and hand trenching in 1972. The property was then geochem sampled by Dynasty Exploration Ltd in 1973 and hand trenched and geochem sampled in 1974 by Vieco Resources Ltd and Whipsaw Resources Ltd under option. The adjoining Sud claims (cl 1-8, YA33552) were staked in Jul/78 by J.C. Turner.
The showing was restaked as Rod cl 1-40 (YA44896) in Jul/79 by Ramrod Mining Corporation, which acquired and performed hand trenching on the Sud group in 1979 and Rod group in 1980, transferred part of its interest to Vancliff Resources Corporation, and drilled several holes in 1981.

Capsule Geology

Small zones of galena, sphalerite and minor chalcopyrite occur in diopside-epidote garnet skarn developed in interbedded limestone and siltstone of the Cambrian to Ordovician Rabbittkettle Formation at an intrusive contact. The sedimentary rocks strike north to northwest and dip 50 - 80 degrees west.
Pyrite and pyrrhotite are occasionally strongly developed and scheelite is present in trace amounts. A Norquest grab sample of the best mineralization assayed 1.2% Zn, 0.4% Pb, 6.9 g/t Ag and trace Au. Another zone (1972 Cirque 6) located about 1.6 km to the south assayed 3.0% Pb, 4.0% Zn, 109.7 g/t Ag and 0.055 Cu across 2 m in a trench.
