Capsule

Work History

Discovered but not staked by Noranda Exploration Company Ltd in 1975. Staked as Lootz cl 1-40 (YA67232) in Sep/81 by a joint venture between SEREM Ltd and Samim Canada Inc, which carried out mapping and geochemical sampling in 1982.

Capsule Geology

Galena and sphalerite occur in veinlets which cut Ordovician basaltic agglomerate, amygdaloidal flows and tuffs exposed in the floor of an east-trending meltwater channel in a gently-dipping north-plunging anticlinorium. The volcanic rocks are conformably overlain by carbonates of the Sunblood Formation. Two areas up to 200 by 100 m returned anomalous lead soil geochem values, ranging up to 1 100 ppm lead. Zinc and silver values ranged up to 550 ppm zinc and 2.5 ppm silver, with one value of 450 ppb gold.
