Description

The Yukon Consolidated Gold Corporation (YCGC) conducted an industrious exploration and dredging program in the Klondike for over four decades. The main objective of their exploration was to determine which creeks were economical for dredging, and create an inventory of Klondike drainages based on placer gold grade and surficial material characteristics. As a result of their exploits, thousands of maps and associated technical reports were produced, providing records of the economic potential in many Klondike creeks. Despite the vintage of the documents the historical data are proving to be valuable to the modern placer exploration and mining industry.  Data have been digitized from the original maps and locational accuracy can be off by as much as 30 m.
